Senator queries family violence approach

Senator Jacqui Lambie has condemned the government's approach to domestic violence, saying cuts to mental health and drug services make no sense.

Crossbench senator Jacqui Lambie has criticised the federal government's approach to tackling domestic violence.

She strongly condemns funding cuts to mental health and drug and alcohol services, saying it doesn't make sense that men who are contributing to the problem and seeking help have to wait for support services.

"The government is sucking the guts out of those areas ... there is no commonsense to the way they are fighting domestic violence," Senator Lambie told reporters in Canberra.
