Sam Dastyari doesn't expect to find a halal snack pack in New England, rather a community of miffed voters who need a drink.

The Labor senator intends pulling up a chair at two pubs in Armidale and Tamworth on Sunday in an area of NSW he claims is being "taken for granted" by its local MP Barnaby Joyce.

The eligibility of the deputy prime minister to sit in parliament is under a cloud until the High Court makes a ruling on his dual-citizenship status.

"I'm expecting a beer, I've been promised a beer," Senator Dastyari told reporters in Canberra of his "very non-Halal events".

"This is an area that has not got the representation it needs and as a senator for NSW, I'm going to be going up there to make sure the voices of the community up there are being heard."

The senator has extended an open invitation to his 'Politics in the Pub' events.

"I'm not aware of anyone else is in the place (Parliament House) coming but who knows, maybe Barnaby will want to join me for a beer," he said.
