Senator's Brazilian views on the budget

Liberal Democrat senator David Leyonhjelm is predicting any spending cuts in the budget will be like giving a gorilla a Brazilian.

Liberal Democrat senator David Leyonhjelm isn't expecting deep enough spending cuts in the government's second budget.

"I have a feeling it'll be a bit like giving a gorilla a Brazilian - there'll be plenty of hair left," he told reporters in Canberra on Tuesday.

"There really is no excuse for transferring today's debts onto future generations."
