Notorious serial killer Ivan Milat has spent the night in a Sydney hospital more than two months after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Milat was transferred from Long Bail jail to a secure annexe of Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Friday afternoon.
It's understood the reason he was transferred was not life-threatening.
The 74-year-old spent two weeks at Prince of Wales in May, when he was diagnosed with oesophagus and stomach cancer.
At the time the killer appeared gaunt and bespectacled, his white hair balding and his infamous handlebar moustache also completely white.
Milat was found guilty in 1996 of murdering seven backpackers whose bodies were found in makeshift graves in Belanglo State Forest in the 1990s.
Time is now running out if the backpacker murderer is to confess and give some closure to the families of his victims.
