Seven hospitalised after Melbourne crash

Seven people have taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Melbourne's southeast.

Seven people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash at Springvale in Melbourne's southeast, with at least one of them seriously injured.

Six people aged between 16 and 20 were in a car that collided early on Monday morning with a second vehicle driven by a Parkdale man in his 40s.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, with the Princes Highway closed outbound at Springvale and Springvale Road closed in both directions.

A woman in her 20s was taken to The Alfred Hospital in a serious condition, with injuries to her head, legs and chest, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

A man in his 20s suffered a chest injury, a man in his late teens had a head injury and another teen had an injured leg.

Another teen had a minor head injury, a high school aged girl suffered a back injury, while a man in his 40s was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
