A 14-year-old boy, allegedly in possession of home-made weapons, was among 75 people arrested in South Australia during New Year's Eve celebrations.
Another 13 people were reported and 196 expiation notices were issued over possession of drugs, possession or consumption of alcohol in a dry zone, and behavioural offences.
Thousands attended celebrations in Adelaide, at suburban Glenelg and at regional centres including Victor Harbor.
Most were well behaved but police Assistant Commissioner Bronwyn Killmier says it was disappointing that some chose to behave irresponsibly.
Many young people were among those arrested.
"It was good to see most people out enjoying themselves and acting responsibly," Ms Killmier said on Friday.
"There were some who did not, and many offences involved alcohol or drugs."
This year's arrest tally was down on last year's 122, when 49 more people were reported and 307 expiation notices issued.
A state-wide traffic operation was also conducted this year with 40 drivers returning positive alcohol readings along with 32 positive drug tests.
The teenager arrested on weapons charges was allegedly found with a tyre lever and a blade attached to a handle at beachside Semaphore after patrols noticed him acting in a disorderly manner.
He is facing two charges of carrying an offensive weapon and was bailed to a appear in court at a later date.
In other incidents a man was injured while setting off fireworks and was treated in hospital, and fireworks sparked several small fires in country areas.
A 26-year-old woman was also rescued by water operations police and surf lifesavers after she got into trouble while swimming at Glenelg at about 2.40am.
