Severe weather warning for Vic corner

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Victoria's top and bottom right-hand corner.

Damaging winds and gusts of up to 100km/h are expected to hit parts of Victoria amid a severe weather warning.

Winds of 60km/h are forecast to reach elevated parts of the state's northeast and south, west and east Gippsland on Wednesday evening, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

Gusts of up to 85km/h were recorded at Mt Hotham about 3.30pm on Wednesday as a low pressure system over the eastern Bight approaches Victoria.
