A lot has changed for Aidan Sezer in the last six months.
The biggest thing? He's happy again.
After four seasons with the Gold Coast, the NRL playmaker is back smiling and enjoying his new life in Canberra - where footy, not scandal, rules.
"There's always a bit of drama in the NRL, but I think here Sticky (coach Ricky Stuart) and the coaching staff have really made footy the No.1 priority," Sezer told AAP.
"There's no other smoke floating over the club."
Sezer couldn't escape the drama last year at the Titans, whose season spiralled out of control after a number of players were caught up in a drug scandal and subsequently suspended.
They lost their first three matches, then 11 of their last 16.
There was also the messy Daly Cherry-Evans contract saga.
"It was a bit frustrating up there," said Sezer.
"All the boys were working hard and then when we felt like we were in the clear, something else would pop up.
"It does affect you. Being away from family as well didn't help my cause."
The exciting half, who joined the Raiders on a three-year deal, said he needed change.
He moved to the nation's capital last October and hasn't looked back.
"Just being happy (has been the biggest change). Being happy and being close to home.
"With any walk of life, if you've got outside influences distracting you while you're doing your craft, it's always going to hamper your performance at work.
"Just being happy puts you in a good frame of mind and you live a positive life from that."
It's likely Sezer will be paired with Blake Austin in the halves in 2016, although he isn't taking his place for granted.
His focus is on staying healthy and playing down expectations.
He also wants to help get the Raiders to the finals for the first time since 2012.
"I haven't experienced it yet in my NRL career, so it's up there as one of my main priorities and ambitions," said Sezer.
