A shark warning has been issued after a whale carcass was spotted at Swanborne beach in Perth.

A shark warning has been issued at a popular Perth beach after a whale carcass was spotted.

Swanborne beach will remain closed until the carcass, which was reported early on Wednesday, is removed.

"It is possible the carcass will act as an attractant that could lead to sharks coming close in to shore along this stretch of coast," authorities warn.
