Authorities have re-issued a shark warning for Perth's northern beaches, surf and dive spots.

A great white shark was spotted about 6km off-shore from Scarborough on Friday.

The Department of Fisheries has since re-issued a warning for waters between Scarborough and Hillarys Boat Harbour, urging people to reconsider swimming, surfing or diving in the area.

People are also advised to not swim, dive or surf near large schools of fish.

There have been 62 reports of shark sightings between Trigg Point and Watermans Bay since June 6.

Shark sightings can be reported to Water Police on 9442 8600.
