Shaun Marsh's unbeaten 163 has delivered Western Australia a five-wicket victory against South Australia in their Sheffield Shield match.

Chasing 313 to win, the Warriors reached the target for the loss of five wickets, about 20 minutes before tea on the final day at Adelaide Oval.

Marsh was superb in a perfect tune-up for the Test series against India starting on December 6, combining with Will Bosisto (58) for the match-winning partnership.

"It was nice to get the win and nice to get some runs as well," Marsh said.

"It's outstanding for us. We have played some really good cricket but I don't think we were at our best this game.

"So that is a positive, we have got some really big improvement ... but to get a win was great for this young group."

Marsh and Bosisto put on 164 runs for the fifth wicket to secure WA's second Shield win this season, leaving the Redbacks with three draws and a loss.

Marsh struck 22 fours and two sixes in his 264-ball knock with Bosisto facing 189 balls in his support role.

Redbacks paceman Daniel Worrall took 3-84 to follow his first-innings seven-wicket haul with left-armer Nick Winter (1-62) and Joe Mennie (1-45) the other successful bowlers.

Teenage legspinner Lloyd Pope was again wicketless, returning 0-74 from 13 overs.

Since the 18-year-old became the youngest bowler to take seven wickets in a Shield innings, against Queensland last month, he's had figures of 0-104, 0-54 and now 0-74.

"Obviously Popey didn't bowl as well as he would have liked today," SA captain Travis Head said.

"I think we played good cricket ... we just haven't been able to win those key moments."
