Shorten ducks questions on emission target

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has refused to answers questions about Labor's climate policies while campaigning in South Australia.

Bill Shorten has ducked questions about Labor's emission reduction target during a fiery exchange on the campaign trail in Adelaide.

During a press conference in the marginal Liberal-held seat of Boothby on Tuesday, the opposition leader was repeatedly asked to explain what impact his climate policies would have on the economy.

Mr Shorten initially tried to deflect the questions by talking about the prime minister's "boasts" about the economy, but declined at least five opportunities to provide a direct response.
