Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has resumed his east coast education tour in Brisbane after a brief detour to Sydney to face off against Malcolm Turnbull in their first debate.
Mr Shorten will attend a rally in South Brisbane on Saturday morning, in the marginal Labor-held seat of Griffith.
The seat is held by Terri Butler by a margin of three per cent since former prime minister Kevin Rudd resigned, forcing a by-election.
Mr Shorten made a brief detour from his Cairns to Canberra two-and-a-half week tour to go head to head against Mr Turnbull in their first debate in western Sydney on Friday night.
The voters declared Mr Shorten the winner.
In a crowd of 100 undecided voters, 42 chose Mr Shorten, 29 chose Mr Turnbull and 29 remained undecided.
