A shot was fired in a Melbourne park on Saturday morning as a car allegedly attempted to ram two police officers.

A police officer has fired a shot at a car that was allegedly attempting to ram two members of Victoria Police.

Officers were inspecting a stationary car in a reserve in Hampton Park, in Melbourne's east, early on Saturday morning when the driver accelerated towards the two police members.

The officers jumped out of the way and one fired a shot at the vehicle.
