Three people have escaped injury after shots were fired into the house they were in in Sydney's northwest.

Three people have escaped injury after shots were fired into a house in Sydney's northwest.

Shots have been fired into a house in Sydney's northwest but three people inside escaped injury.

Police were called to the home in Putney at about 1.50am (AEST) on Saturday after residents reported hearing gunfire.

Officers found gunshot damage to the front of one home and established a crime scene.

A man and two women inside the home at the time were not injured.

Police said a car was heard driving from the scene following the shooting.
