The relationship between Sesame Street's famous muppet friends, Bert and Ernie has sparked worldwide debate.
A Facebook petition has been started encouraging the pair to get married, though the children's show has repeatedly denied Bert and Ernie are gay.
CNN reports The Sesame Worskshop, which produces Sesame Street says that while Bert and Ernie are identified as male characters, they "do not have a sexual orientation."
