Simmons to captain NBA World team

Ben Simmons has been given a big honour, with the Australian to captain the NBA's World All-Stars team.

Australia's Ben Simmons will lead the World team in a match against the NBA's Rising Stars next month during All-Star weekend.

Ten first- and second-year NBA players from the United States will play 10 first- and second-year NBA players from around the world in the annual showcase of some of the league's best young talent on February 15.

76ers star Simmons will captain the World team in the match in Charlotte, and will joined by such players as Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby (United Kingdom), Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (Bahamas) and Sacramento Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic (Serbia).

The US team includes Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen and Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball.
