Sims handed ban for Super League brawl

Warrington's Ashton Sims will serve a one-match Super League suspension following his brawl with Leeds prop Brad Singleton.

Warrington prop Ashton Sims will sit out Friday's Super League derby with St Helens after being slugged with a one-match ban following his brawl with Leeds prop Brad Singleton.

The former North Queensland front-rower, who is an ever-present for the Wolves this season, was found guilty of a grade B offence of punching when he appeared in front of a Rugby Football League disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday.

The Fiji international was sin-binned during his club's 52-18 win over the champions last Friday after exchanging a number of blows with Singleton, who was also handed a one-match ban after submitting an early-guilty plea.

Singleton will miss Friday's home game against Catalans Dragons, but the Rhinos' England centre Kallum Watkins will be able to keep his ever-present record after being told he will face no further action for a careless high tackle on Warrington centre Ryan Atkins.
