Sims to miss Pacific Test

Korbin Sims and Jayson Bukuya will each miss one match after pleading guilty to charges from the NRL match review committee.

Newcastle's Korbin Sims will miss Fiji's Pacific Test against Papua New Guinea after pleading guilty to a grade-two careless high tackle charge.

Sims was charged for his first-half shot on Joe Burgess during Newcastle's 38-0 loss to the Sydney Roosters on Saturday night, and will miss just the one match for the hit.

The forward will be free to return for the Knights against Cronulla in round 10, however the Sharks will be without forward Jayson Bukuya who pled guilty to a grade-one shoulder charge.

Bukuya's 79th-minute hit on Brisbane's Ben Hunt, which originally went unnoticed on the field before the bunker pulled it up, has earned him one week on the sideline.

Meanwhile Shaun Johnson is free to play for New Zealand against Australia on Friday night despite pleading guilty to a grade-one tripping charge.

Johnson is the seventh player to be guilty of the offence this year, however only Melbourne winger Marika Koroibete has missed matches for the charge.
