Sinodinos confident can retain AAA rating

Cabinet Secretary Arthur Sinodinos believes Australia will retain its AAA credit rating, but government spending will need to be curtailed.

Senior Liberal Arthur Sinodinos is confident Australia can retain its AAA credit rating but says government spending needs to be reined in "more and more".

"Unless we reform spending, there is no way you can keep tax down," he told Sky News on Sunday.

But he doesn't believe Australia's debt is at a point that would impact its top-tier rating.
