Prime Minister Tony Abbott says the human rights situation in the Indonesian province of West Papua is improving.
He's accused three West Papuans who broke into the Australian consulate in Bali to protest over conditions in the province of "grand standing".
Indonesia correspondent Rebecca Henschke told Murray Silby there are consistent reports of human rights abuses in West Papua, but it's difficult for journalists to independently verify what's happening there.
