Five soldiers and a policeman have been killed in an anti-terrorist operation in southeast Turkey, the state-run Anadolu news agency reports, citing security forces.
The deaths occurred in Mardin province where a military offensive has been ongoing since mid-March.
Seven police officers were killed on Thursday in an attack on security forces in the mainly Kurdish city of Diyarbakir, while more than 27 people were injured.
The Turkish Army has for months intensified its campaign against the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeast of the country.
In Sur and Diyarbakir districts there are regular clashes between PKK fighters and the security forces. Currently the most intense fighting is in the cities of Sirnak and Nusaybin.
The security operation has led to revenge attacks in other parts of Turkey.
In mid-March, a PKK splinter group claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on the capital Ankara in which 37 people died.
