Six NRL players named in PNG squad

Papua New Guinea have named an 18-strong squad boasting six NRL players for the Port Moresby clash with Prime Minister's XIII in October.

Six NRL players have been included in an impressive 18-strong Papua New Guinea squad for next month's Prime Minister's XIII clash in Port Moresby.

Cronulla rake James Segeyaro, St George Illawarra flyer Nene Macdonald and Canterbury forward Rhyse Martin headline the squad for the October 6 clash.

Catalans fullback and ex-Gold Coast flyer David Mead and Widnes prop Wellington Albert will fly in from the UK Super League to bolster the PNG ranks.

Melbourne winger Justin Olam, Sydney Roosters' Lachlan Lam and North Queensland pivot Kyle Laybutt are the other NRL players in the PNG line-up.

The rest of the squad is comprised of Queensland Cup players including eight members of the PNG Hunters outfit.

The squad will assemble in Port Moresby this week, with Lam and Olam to link with PNG after Sunday's NRL grand final.
