Six people with suspect salmonella in SA

South Australian health authorities say six people have been diagnosed with the same strain of salmonella linked to lettuce in Victoria.

Six people in South Australia have been diagnosed with the same strain of salmonella linked to pre-packed lettuce in Victoria.

But none of those cases have yet been confirmed as stemming from consumption of lettuce distributed by Victorian-based company Tripod Farmers.

SA has recorded 153 salmonella cases so far this year with only the six confirmed as salmonella anatum, the strain currently under investigation.

SA Health says anyone who purchased the pre-packed products should dispose of them or return them.
