Sixers go top of WBBL with Strikers win

A blistering Alyssa Healy ton and bowler Sarah Coyte's stunning return have helped the Sydney Sixers to beat the Adelaide Strikers to go top of the WBBL table.

Alyssa Healy's spectacular maiden WBBL century helped has catapulted the Sydney Sixers to a seven-wicket win over the Adelaide Strikers and to the top of the points table.

After the Strikers had posted a competitive 5-149 off their 20 overs on Saturday afternoon at Sydney's Hurstville Oval, Healy smoked 13 boundaries and three sixes in her 106 off just 66 deliveries.

She dominated the Sixers' run chase, achieved with four balls to spare.

Healy's stunning knock was the second ton by a Sixer, the third by any woman this summer and the fifth in the WBBL's three-season history.

The national wicketkeeper was smartly stumped by opposite number Tegan McPharlin with the finish line in sight which slowed the scoring rate.

Erin Burns (25no), who had played a support role during an 86-run third-wicket stand with Healy, helped the Sixers home.

Ex-Australian representative Sarah Coyte was easily the home side's best bowler, capturing 2-14 from her four overs against her former side, including the key breakthrough of dangerous Strikers skipper Suzie Bates.

It was Coyte's first game in more than 12 months after she had retired last year to deal with anxiety issues.

She was the only Sixers' bowler to go at under a run a ball, as Sophie Devine (70 off 45 balls, including five sixes) and Tahlia McGrath (44no off 35) produced their best digs of the summer.
