The Sydney Sixers have signed former Test batsman James Vince in a like-for-like BBL replacement for fellow England international Joe Denly.

Hampshire captain Vince, having played recently with the Auckland Aces in New Zealand, will join up with his new Sixers' teammates in Perth for their clash with the Scorchers on Sunday at Optus Stadium.

Denly who has been called up to play for England later this month in the West Indies.

Vince, 27, has represented England in all formats and will bring a wealth of experience and firepower to the Sixers' batting line-up for the remaining seven games of the season.

It will be his second BBL stint after turning out in 2017-18 for the Sydney Thunder.

Vince described the Big Bash is a fantastic competition to be a part of.

"The guys are playing some great cricket at the minute and are in a strong position heading into the second half of the tournament."

"Hopefully, I can hit the ground running and make some good contributions that will help us go all the way this year. Sydney is a fantastic place and the SCG is an incredible ground - I can't wait to get started."

After the Perth match, the Sixers will return to the SCG for five-consecutive home matches, beginning on Wednesday against the Melbourne Renegades.
