Sixth measles case confirmed in SA region

The sixth locally acquired measles case in South Australia's Gawler area has been confirmed, with SA Health urging people to check their vaccination status.

A sixth case of measles in regional South Australia has been confirmed, with the government urging people to check their vaccination status.

A 33-year-old woman is in a stable condition in hospital after being diagnosed with the highly contagious disease.

The case brings the total number of people diagnosed with measles to 12 this year, and is the sixth to come from the Gawler area.

Only four cases of measles were confirmed in 2015.
