Creator of iconic television show Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, John Callum, has died aged 91.
The writer, director and producer of the 1960s series was a pioneer of Australian film and television.
He worked with his wife of six decades, Googie Withers.
Born in Brisbane in 1918, Callum worked in theatre in London before returning home.
But he found fame for his role in a television program centred around a pet Eastern Gray kangaroo.
Skippy ran for just three seasons, but was broadcast across the world, and is still being shown in countries like Iran.
