Sky Tower lights up for Paris

Auckland's Sky Tower will join a collection of iconic buildings around the world in lighting up in the French national colours.

The Auckland Sky Tower will light up in red, white and blue in solidarity with France following the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed more than 120 people.

The Sky Tower joins a collection of other prominent buildings across the world, including the Empire State building and One World Trade Centre spire in New York, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Wembley Stadium in England and Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer statue, in illuminating the French national colours.

People will also gather in Auckland's Aotea Square in support.
