Defence has confirmed the two cadets at the centre of the Skype scandal have been suspended.

The two men have been charged in relation to the story of a female cadet at the Australian Defence Force Academy being filmed while having consensual sex.

Police allege the incident was then broadcast via Skype to a nearby room where other cadets were watching on.

"Following this court appearance both cadets were removed from the academy pending the outcome of administrative and court action," a defence spokesman told AAP.

He could not say at what point between the court appearance on April 29 and Thursday night the cadets had been suspended.
