A Victorian woman allegedly killed by her partner would be "so proud" of the community's commitment to stopping domestic violence, her family says.
Karen Belej was found dead in a home in Cardross, near Mildura, on May 1 and her partner, Brandon Osborn, 36, has been charged with her murder.
Since her death, hundreds of people have taken to social media with messages of condolences for her family, as well as messages of concern about the growing number of victims killed by family violence.
"Karen would be so proud of this collective response and the support shown for the White Ribbon cause of which she was so passionate," her family said in a statement on Monday.
"We are overwhelmed by the public response to the #standbykaren and #warmersforkaren social media campaigns."
Her family has also urged the public to continue supporting community efforts to address domestic violence.
"As a community we must commit to confronting the issue of domestic violence, in all of its forms, now as well as in the future."
Ms Belej was a popular human resources officer at Mildura Rural City Council and an advocate for the White Ribbon campaign to prevent men's violence against women.
The 31-year-old had been working to have the council accredited as a White Ribbon workplace.
