Slater fraud target under UK probe

The UK Serious Fraud squad is investigating the Watchstone Group - a company against which law firm Slater and Gordon is planning a $1 billion fraud claim.

Law firm Slater and Gordon says a UK firm that it plans to sue for $1 billion is being investigated by the UK Serious Fraud squad.

Slater and Gordon last week announced plans to file a PS600 million fraud claim against Watchstone Group, formerly known as Quindell, relating to Slater and Gordon's acquisition of Quindell's Professional Service Division in 2015.

Slater and Gordon said on Monday that one of its UK subsidiaries which was part of the Quindell acquisition had received a notice from the UK Serious Fraud requiring it to produce documents.
