Firefighters are working to contain an out-of-control bushfire in a small fishing village on the NSW mid-north coast.

The bushfire is burning in the Crowdy Bay National Park, north of Harrington.A watch and act alert has been issued for the fire, with burning embers falling in the township, the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) says.
There are currently no properties under immediate threat, but winds will increase throughout the day which will put pressure on containment lines, the RFS says.
Firefighters are being assisted by waterbombing aircraft.

Meanwhile, the RFS has downgraded a bushfire burning in Sydney's north to advice.
The fire threatened homes yesterday, and late last night it was still burning in bushland behind homes in Maitland Street, Cambage Court and McBrien Place at Davidson.
