Brisbane drivers will soon be able to use their mobile phones to find parking spaces and top up the meter.

The Brisbane City Council is launching a new phone app as part of a $3.4 million parking package in its 2015-16 budget, to be announced on Wednesday.

"Using this app, motorists will only need pay for the time they use at the parking meter, not a minute more," Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said.
