Queensland coach Kevin Walters is still adamant Cameron Smith won't make a State of Origin comeback - but doesn't mind that some in NSW don't believe him.

Walters was forced to again deny suggestions Smith would return for this year's series, tossing up Jake Granville or Ben Hunt as answers to their hooking crisis.

Asked whether he liked that some in Blues' quarters remained suspicious of a Smith ruse, Walters replied: 'It adds to the theatre of Origin, I guess."
