Snapping a bargain at supersize garage sale

Bargain hunters can find everything from Star Wars figures to a grand piano among the goods on offer at the third annual Garage Sale Trail.

Co-founder Andrew Valder says he hopes the concept will bring communities together as well as encourage sustainable living.

At Sasha Defaux's home in Sydney's inner west, more than a dozen shoppers stopped by over lunchtime to snap up children's toys, clothing and household goods.

All proceeds will go to a very special cause. Sasha is hoping to raise money for her sister, who has ovarian cancer.

Ms Defaux was this year's ANZ NSW Garage Sale prize winner for her stall, which she calls "Glorious garbage for a Cause".
