Snapshot for day three of the second Test

A snapshot for day three of the second Test between Australia and South Africa at Bellerive Oval.

AUSTRALIA vs SOUTH AFRICA: DAY THREE

* Score: Australia 85 and 2-121. South Africa 326.

* Man of the moment: A tie between South African centurion Quinton de Kock (104 off 143) and Aussie paceman Josh Hazlewood (6-89). De Kock spearheaded the Proteas' first innings, humiliating the home side's bowlers as he raced to his second Test career ton. Meanwhile Hazlewood achieved his second-best Test figures in an effort overshadowed by his side's lacklustre batting.

* Key moment: Joe Burns' dismissal. All eyes were on Australian openers David Warner and Burns and whether the top-order would again collapse in the second innings. On just the fourth ball Burns played a loose shot and on review was given out, nicking the ball to be caught behind. Australia were 1-0 and the sense of desperation was heightened.

* Stat of the day: 88 - the number of Test wickets taken by Josh Hazlewood since his debut in December 2014 is more than any other Australian over the same period.

* Summary: After a shaky start to their second innings with opener Joe Burns dismissed on ball no.4, Australia have stood their ground at the crease but are still 120 runs away from making South Africa bat again.
