Snapshot of eating disorders in SA

South Australia's Statewide Eating Disorder Service has released a snapshot of what the average eating disorder sufferer looks like.

The average South Australian living with an eating disorder is a 25-year-old woman who has been ill for eight years.

She's almost certainly white and has a more than 40 per cent chance of suffering from depression, a snapshot from South Australia's Statewide Eating Disorder Service says.

The snapshot, with data from 147 case studies, has been released to raise awareness of the potentially deadly illness on World Eating Disorders Action Day on June 2.
