Two women and two men have died trying to escape in their vehicles from lightning-sparked bushfires near Esperance in Western Australia.

* Emergency warning; lives and homes in danger

* Four people dead

* Three buildings believed destroyed

* 117,000 hectares burnt

* Fire contained but not controlled; moving slowly southeast

* Wind conditions variable; may push fire in a different direction

* Started by lightning 7am on Sunday

STOCKYARD CREEK/MULLET LAKES

* Emergency warning; lives and homes in danger

* 15,000 hectares burnt

* Fire contained but not controlled, moving slowly northwest

* Wind conditions variable; may push fire in a different direction

* Started by lightning 3pm on Sunday

THOMAS RIVER-POISON CREEK AREA IN CAPE ARID NATIONAL PARK

* Watch and act warning; possible threat to lives and homes

* Park closed; people evacuated

* Firefighters building containment lines, burning out areas along the park boundary to protect adjacent private property

* Fire moving eastward, not contained

* Fire reported Tuesday; started by lightning.
