The warnings for bushfires burning in the Esperance shire in southern Western Australia have been downgraded.

WHERE THE ESPERANCE FIRES ARE BURNING

SALMON GUMS/GRASS PATCH FIRE

* Four people dead

* Two homes destroyed, others damaged

* Advice warning

* About 132,000 hectares burnt

* Fire is contained and stationary, but not under control

* About 100km north of Esperance

STOCKYARD CREEK/MULLET LAKES

* Watch and act warning; possible threat to lives and homes

* About 17,100 hectares burnt

* Fire not controlled, containment lines are being strengthened

* Fire is moving in a north westerly direction; strengthening winds of 25-30km/h

* Potential for spot fires to occur

* About 25km east of Esperance

THOMAS RIVER-POISON CREEK AREA IN CAPE ARID NATIONAL PARK

* Advice warning

* About 25,000 hectares burnt

* Fire is burning in the park, which has been closed; near private properties

* Fire is not fully contained; burning back into already burnt-out areas * About 125km east of Esperance

IMPACTS

* People evacuated from Salmon Gums/Grass Patch returning home after roads opened

* Yet to be decided when four schools closed in Scaddan, Grass Patch, Salmon Gums and Cascade will re-open

* 329 properties without power; Horizon says most will take a week to be reconnected as there has been significant damage to the network
