Snowboarder continues strong Paras lead up

Australian para-snowboard star Joany Badenhorst has claimed a second gold medal at the World Cup Finals, a month out from the PyeongChang Paralympics.

Australian Paralympic co-captain Joany Badenhorst's strong lead up to the PyeongChang Games has continued with a second World Cup Finals gold medal this week.

Two days after taking out the para-snowboard cross, the 23-year-old has won the banked slalom event by more than 13 seconds from her nearest rival in Canada on Thursday.

The victory sees Badenhorst, a leg amputee, clinch the World Cup season's top ranking in the snowboard LL2 classification.

She will turn her attention to making her Paralympic debut next month in South Korea after injury put her out of Sochi 2014.

"There is still a lot of work that needs to be done before the Paralympic Games begin," Badenhorst said.

"But I'm really happy to see how it goes and put in that hard work leading into the Games."

Australian men's para-snowboarders Ben Tudhope and Sean Pollard finished fourth and seventh respectively at the event in Big White.
