More than 50,000 bars of donated recycled soap is bound for Fiji to help Cyclone Winston survivors.

One-of-three shipments from Soap Aid left Melbourne Airport aboard a Virgin Australia flight on Sunday morning.

CARE Australia spokesman Charlie Damon said sanitation and hygiene supplies were important to prevent the spread of diseases during disaster recovery.
