People who spend their working lives sitting down are far more likely to suffer an early death than those in more active jobs - that's one of the key findings of a survey of more than a quarter of a million Australians aged 45 and older.

The '45 and Up' study has spent the past five years tracking the health of ageing Australians, and the data collected thus far has been used in close to 100 different studies.
