Key Socceroos have greeted Melbourne fans at one of the last public appearances by Aussie players before their departure for the World Cup.
Socceroos star Tim Cahill spent the morning signing autographs and eating breakfast alongside fans at a Weet-Bix promotion in Melbourne's city centre, with hundreds of Socceroos supporters attending.
He arrived in Melbourne this morning to join his teammates for their first training session at a pre-World Cup camp later today.
He says the team's work ethic and experience from the 2006 World Cup will be keys to their performance at the 2010 tournament in South Africa next month.
With injury concerns hanging over several players - most notably Harry Kewell and Mark Bresciano - Cahill stressed the importance of getting first-choice players in peak condition to tackle the World Cup.
