South Australians are the best recyclers in the country, according to the latest figures.

Environment Minister Ian Hunter says 79.7 per cent of the state's waste was recycled in 2013/14, with 3.59 million tonnes diverted from landfill.

Each South Australian recycles more than 2100kg of waste every year, Mr Hunter says.
