South Korean President Moon Jae-in is to meet with members of the North Korean Olympics delegation, the news agency Yonhap has reported, citing his office.
"President Moon plans to hold a meeting and have lunch with the North Korean delegation on February 10," the spokesman told a press briefing. He did not say where the planned meeting on Saturday would take place.
The confirmation came after US Vice President Mike Pence said he would leave the door open to a meeting with North Korean delegates, despite Pyongyang saying it had no "willingness" to meet the US side.
"We're headed to the Olympics, and there may be a possibility for any kind of an encounter with North Koreans, whether it be informal or whether it take the form of a meeting," Pence told reporters in Japan before setting off for South Korea.
The Unification Ministry in Seoul said on Wednesday that Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, would be a member of Pyongyang's delegation.
