South WA residents told to prepare to flee

Residents in the Shire of Jerramungup, in southeast WA, are being warned an approaching bushfire poses a risk to their lives and properties.

A bushfire is threatening Western Australia's south with authorities warning residents to prepare to flee or defend their properties.

The fire in the Shire of Jerramungup is affecting all coastal campsites at Bremer Bay and the eastern part of Boxwood Hill, southeast of Perth.

The fire started near the intersection of Borden-Bremer Bay Road and Warramurrup Road in Bremer Bay.

A watch and act alert has remained in place since Friday.

Meanwhile, residents in Pickering Brook in Perth are free to use roads after an all-clear was issues for a fire in the north of the suburb.

A total fire ban has been declared across WA on Sunday.
