Southeast Brisbane has been named as the worst storm-affected region in Queensland.
NRMA Insurance data released on Monday revealed residents in southeast Brisbane suburbs like Capalaba and Cleveland had the highest percentage of home insurance claims due to storm damage in the past financial year.
Proserpine, in the Whitsunday Region, was the worst affected regional town.
The storm season started in October with widespread heavy rainfall, high winds and flash flooding across central Queensland to the far north last week.
The severe weather was a record-breaker with Bundaberg copping seven times its October rain average before the month's end.
Figures from NRMA Insurance indicate home insurance claims skyrocket during major weather events, with storm damage from Cyclone Debbie dominating 76 per cent of claims in March this year.
Damage bills are rolling in from the recent storms with the RACQ receiving more than 260 claims from the Gold Coast to the Whitsundays for damage sustained in the last 10 days.
"Its high winds causing the most damage in this weather event; we've seen roof tiles being lifted and debris knocking over things like fences and outdoor equipment," RACQ spokeswoman Kirsty Clinton said.
"We've had claims from leaky roofs and a few claims from flooding."
The Bureau of Meteorology's flood warnings have eased significantly with only final flood watches in place for rivers in the Wide Bay and central Queensland.
Thunderstorms are predicted for southeast Queensland on Monday, with the bureau warning of the possibility of small hail.
