South Sydney enforcer Sam Burgess has hailed Rabbitohs coach Anthony Seibold as the best mentor in the game and implored his NRL club to keep him at Redfern.

Seibold is contracted until the end of 2019 but has put extension talks on hold amid speculation he could end up at Brisbane as Wayne Bennett's successor.

Burgess, though, is hoping the Rabbitohs don't fall victim to the coaching merry-go-round, declaring the Queensland-born 43-year-old the undoubted architect behind the side's transformation into a title force in 2018.
