South Sydney have signed playmaker Luke Kelly from Parramatta as back-up for incumbent halves pairing Greg Inglis and Adam Reynolds.

Kelly spent five years at the Eels and played one NRL game in 2016 after suffering a serious knee injury early in the year.

He has played 47 NRL games after starting his career in 2009 with Melbourne.

The Rabbitohs have also extended young back-rower Jack Gosiewski's contract for another year, keeping him at Redfern until at least the end of the 2017 season.

He played five games for the Rabbitohs in 2016.
